Winter Recreation League
Program competes in the Bill Meyer League (BML) of Cal North CYSA - District 8. The program is for boys and girls in the U8 through U14 age groups. BML is a unique playing experience that provides recreational players the opportunity to participate and play semi-competitively.
Play in BML provides recreation league soccer players the experience to travel to other cities. They get to play against opponents they have not seen all season, the travel is new, the opponents are new, and it brings a new level of excitement. This is to encourage the recreational player to continue playing, and taking them toward a potential future of competitive soccer play.

Basic Requirements
1. Player must have played on a fall recreation league team in the same year.
2. All players must try out to make the team.
* There is no registration fee until the player makes the team.
The Winter League is a next level recreational semi-competitive playing opportunity for young aspiring soccer athletes. All players will participate in a tryout and face the challenge of tough competition to add to their experience. The winter soccer program competes in the Cal North - District 8 - Bill Meyer League (BML).
Timing for this league typically begins with tryouts in early-November, first practice around the first week of December, first soccer match begin first week of January (10 matches scheduled at two per Saturday), and season ends with a tournament late-February/early-March.

Winter League Training/Practice Sessions
Tryout scores will be tabulated by November 22 and teams picked soon after.
Training sessions will be begin the first week of December and are typically held at Standard Park two evenings at 2X per week. This may vary depending on coach's availability.
Training sessions during this time of the year can be cold so ensure players are dressed for the conditions.
Winter League Match/Game Schedule
Matches begin the first week of January on Saturdays. There will be two matches per day and for five Saturday weekends. Matches may be played at locations from Atwater, Modesto, Stockton, and Sonora.
At the end of six weeks, there'll be a bye week and the following week will be tournament weekend. All teams will be seeded according to six week play results.
Sign-Up and Try Out Information
There are no costs to try out for the team. If selected to play on a team, then links will be sent to parents to register online. Registration fees for 2025/2026 are ~$250 per player (including taxes and fees). Please note, some teams may be unable to be formed due to low enrollment in that age-group, or there is no coach for the team.
Players are to bring water, boots, and shin guards to the tryout session. There's no requirement to attend both sessions, but is recommended to attend both sessions.
