NOW Recruiting Coaches for the 2025 Recreation League Season!

No prior coaching experience necessary! As a youth soccer coach, you will be provided resources and support to help you succeed. Some resources can be found below. If you have a child playing, you can coach his or her team!

Thank you so much coach for giving your time!

We deeply appreciate our coaches and volunteers for their unwavering dedication and commitment in investing their time. Whether you are embarking on your coaching journey for the first time or are a seasoned returning coach, it is essential for all coaches and volunteers to fulfill the four mandatory risk management requirements for the current seasonal year. The only requirement that can carry over if you coached or volunteered the year prior is the Livescan. All other prerequisites must be completed annually.

To assist in this process, Cal North Soccer has provided step-by-step guides for each requirement, designed to facilitate a smoother clearance process and get you onto the field quicker!

Please begin these requirements below

on June 1st to be eligible for the 25/26 season.

All coaches must complete a Livescan, Background Check, complete the SafeSport, and the Intro to Safety training.

Click on a requirement below to learn how to complete.

This age group is when youth begin to lose interest in sports.  At a time when both boys and girls need to stay most active, 70% of youth athletes drop out of sports by age 13.

We must encourage and support our kids to play and have fun playing soccer without the pressure to perform by both parents and coaches.  "High-pressure youth sports environments can lead to a loss of enjoyment and burnout. Professionalization of youth sports 'is widely considered responsible for the high volumes of training and the pressure to specialize in a single sport that may lead to overuse injury, overtraining, and burnout in young athletes,' the clinical report states"

SUSC is Hosting a Skills Clinic Fundraiser!

Register TODAY to Join the Clinic and Support Our Local Girls!

Four local soccer players have been selected by One Soccer Schools to compete with an elite soccer team in England from April 11 to April 20, 2025!

In summer 2024, One Soccer Schools hosted camps and training sessions across the nation with thousands of participants.  Our local girls are 4 of only 28 that have been hand selected as part of this elite team.  Now, we are reaching out to our community to help these girls chase their dreams and advance their bright soccer futures!

The clinic will be run by the girls that were selected for this elite team as well as by Sierra United Soccer Club and high school coaches.  The focus of the clinic will be on both the technical aspects of the game as well as the tactical. There will be individual training as well as group drills and small sided games. Field players and goal keepers are welcome!!  Three of the girls are field players and one is a goalkeeper so training will cover the skills necessary for every position on the field.

This is a fundraising event!

You can donate whatever you are comfortable with.  If you would prefer to just donate and not attend the clinic you can do that as well.  100% of your donation will go to offset the expense of the trip for these girls.

The Fine Print

Player trying-out MUST tryout for the age group of the player's birth year;

A. Exceptions: Players of an established team (at least one season on this team) are able to tryout for the older-birth-year team.

B. To be considered eligible for playing on an older-birth-year team, the player must tryout for his/her current age group AS WELL AS the desired older-age-year team. The player must be ranked and evaluated to be in the top three of his/her own age-year team AND be ranked at top of older-year team in order to age-up into the older team. In addition, the parents must declare in writing prior to tryouts that they wish to have their player move up in eligibility.

C. Aging-up is only considered if there is an appropriate age-up team.

D. If a player is rostered onto a Sierra United team during the 2024 Fall League and later into the season chooses to be dropped from the team, the player will remain ineligible to be rostered in the 2024 Fall Recreation League and 2024/2025 Winter Bill Meyer League.

If desired, players may register for the 2024 Fall Recreation League Season with TCYS (tcysoccer.org/fall-recreation-league) by the May 15 deadline, and if selected for a Sierra United SC team, the Registrar can transfer any paid fees and registration to the club team.

E. Prospective players may tryout for one day, or may choose to tryout on both days listed to possibly improve their overall ranking and evaluation scores.
